Ghost Uncle is a two-channel video installation in which I portray my uncle who disappeared at the age of 23 in Korea. I only have imagined him through family stories, and he has become a mythological figure that I am trying to connect with.

One video consists sound and text. The viewer hears a series of comments by family members recalling my uncle, and sees an English translation on a white video screen.

The other video shows a unique family gathering: each of my family members climbs on top of the burial mounds near Go-Seong, Korea, where my uncle used to live. Together they look down on the village.
